A Reliable Wife - Robert Goolrick I simply could not get into this book. I checked it out because of the setting -- rural Wisconsin in the early 1900s. I had ancestors living there around that time and thought it would be an interesting insight into life back then, plus the topic of a mail-order black-widow bride seemed intriguing. I only made it a few chapters before putting it down and moving on to another book. There were too many awkward sexual references, and the characters seemed entirely unlikable. The setting was vague as well -- it could have been any snowy place in the early 1900s; there was nothing specific to Wisconsin at all, and I'm fairly certain the town they lived in was made-up. Not what I was looking for at all.
